The third day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival is Crown Oaks Day, an occasion for the ladies to express their own signature style, amid a spectacular racing backdrop. I was lucky enough to venture to Melbourne and attend Oaks Day as a special guest of Myer. Flemington was a buzz with fashionista's and racing fanatics alike and the birdcage had such an electric vibe it was hard not to have fun. Oaks day is one of the biggest style events on the racing calendar along with the National Fashion's on the Field winner being crowned.
There was an elegant atmosphere in the Myer marquee with celebrity guests Whitney Port, Jennifer Hawkins, Kris Smith, Lauren Phillips, Laura Dundovic, Kate Peck, Zoe Badwi, Elle Magazine Editor - Justin Cullen and a lot more! Music filled the marquee as celebrity dj's The Faders took control and guests were treated to flowing champagne and delicious canapés.
It was hard to pick a best dressed with many ladies getting their outfits spot on, but one that stood out for me was Myer face Jen Hawkins wearing Manning Cartell dress along with a $800,000 Cerrone diamond crown headpiece. A beautiful girl inside and out.
Oaks day is a chance to truly connect and enjoy in the ultimate style day, to create a look that is fun and true to their own style. My dress was by Mary Katrantzou, while the headpiece was custom made by the talented Kerrie Stanley to suit the dress. I accessorised with a Fendi Clutch thanks to Reebonz and simple / comfortable heels thanks to Kobe Husk.
