Spring is finally here and with that brings sun drenched days and warm nights. Summer is a chance for us to start a new with our wardrobe, experiment with new trends and find those old hidden gems from 12 seasons ago.
Trying to keep up with the latest and greatest in fashion trends can be expensive, but there are ways around it. Now one thing I always pride my blog on, is mixing of affordable pieces with lavish / designer brands. The key to a good shopper, is mixing the price points of your outfit. Investing in a key piece of clothing or statement accessory and then matching it back with well priced basics. However I recently decided that I would give myself the challenge of buying a summer outfit inspired by Santorini for all under $50 - $60! Impossible your saying, well when the standard price point for sandals is around $100 alone, I too thought it wasn’t impossible.
So where to go? I’ve been following the fashion updates and instagram feed for our very own, well known, trusted brand Target. They pride themselves on making fashion, style and quality affordable. Target have recently announced collaborations with the likes of Missoni, Danni Minouge and many more. So I headed there.
I must admit I got extremely carried away, I found myself with a basket full of dresses, accessories, beauty products, gym gear… the list went on. It wasn’t until I caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror that I realised I had gone completely off track! So after standing in store, in the same spot, scratching my head as to which pieces to get… I chose these.
Why these pieces. I chose this dress due to it’s versitiallity. A great summer dress, yes, but with a corporate black jacket and some high heels you have the perfect evening / work look. The black slides are very on trend for summer and I just fell in love with the vibrant colours of the beach bag and by adding thicker stripes it gives the look that effortless colour blocking effect.
Mission complete.
