It's all about the Ray-Ban

Ray-Ban's are a sunglass brand that we know and love and there is no doubt that we all own a pair or have previously owned. Ray-Bans were first created in 1936. So where did the idea come from? Well, some years earlier Lieutenant John Macready ( American test pilot ) returned from a balloon flight complaining about the sun, having had permanently damaged his eyes, and contacted Bausch & Lomb asking for them to design a pair of sunglasses that would help with protection. Bausch & Lomb are the official founders of Ray-Ban and are the master minds behind the Aviator, which became super popular thanks to General Douglas MacArthur who wore these when he landed in the Philippines in Word War 2 and got snapped up by photographers wearing the stylish eyewear. In 1952, Ray-Ban created another style, the Ray-Ban Wayfarer, this time with plastic frames, which became popular soon after its release and to date is still one of the most popular styles.

To celebrate 75 years I decided to get myself some Ray-Ban Wayfarers a style that literally goes with everything and to me screams summer beach fun. I bought these with a little OPSM online shopping and felt even more in the christmas spirt when they arrived in a super cute christmas box. Perfect idea for christmas loved ones if you ask me, or buy yourself a christmas gift and label it from Santa, my tree is stocked with presents from Santa, I must have been very good this year!
