Love From Italy

Well hello 2015! I told you I had some exciting projects happening this year and this is one of them. I was invited as the Australian blogger to attend Firenze Forever - 10th Edition in Florence, Italy for Luisaviaroma. Now for those of you who haven't heard of Luisaviaroma, let me change your life. Lusiaviaroma is your one stop shop for all your leading international brands. The website features clothes, shoes and accessories for men and women from the most prestigious fashion designers such as Alexander McQueen, Balmain, Givenchy, Marni, Chloe, Dior, Lanvin, Saint Laurent, Alexander Wang, Charlotte Olympia and many many more. Now that I have your fashion taste buds going crazy, the other good news is they offer free express shipping to Australia!

So let me start from the beginning. My trip began with 26 hours of travel. Sydney to Abu Dubai, Abu Dubai to Rome and then the final leg Rome to Florence. Thanks to Etihad my trip was spent in luxury and went surprisingly fast. On arrival into Florence I was met by the city soaked in winter light. After visiting Florence only 4 months ago, I was blown away how this city transforms with the seasons. Both Florence in winter and summer is sublime. My hotel was a true italian style villa, Villa Cora. The hotel has 46 rooms and suites, divided into the main villa and two adjacent buildings. All restored to the minutest of details with the aim of conserving the original architecture. This hotel is a must if visiting Florence.

There is no denying that Florence has made its mark on the world, especially the fashion world! So eager to hit the Ponte Vecchio and the Lusiaviaroma store which was located over 4 floors on the most popular street in Florence. That evening we walked through the bright streets to the Palazzo Vecchio ( Town Hall) where we were greeted by the mayor of Florence  Dario Nardella and treated to a banquet dinner within the Palazzo Vecchio.

Day two was filled with meetings, sightseeing, location scouting and attending the LVR Summit, which  saw seminars from the Directors of Google, Rewardstyle and more. That evening guest were treated to yet another dinner in the Florence glasshouse.  Truffled fettuccine and the best red wines. I could get use to this. Day three is shoot day, I get the honour of pulling 5 looks from the new spring / summer collections from Lusiaviaroma and shoot amongst the streets of Florence. So stay tuned for my posts and what the last night here in Florence involves.
Ciao For Now.

Nikki.
