The Veuve Clicquot Diary - Day One

Hello from Queenstown, NZ. That’s right my husband and I were fortunate enough to have been invited by Veuve Clicquot to come and celebrate Clicquot in the Snow. Normally Clicquot in the Snow is held in Thredbo, but this year they have joined forces with New Zealand and the location is picturesque Queenstown.

We flew into Auckland Tuesday night and had a quick one night stop over before the red eye to Queenstown Wednesday morning. We were then escorted to the The Hilton Queenstown Resort and Spa which will be our home for the next 4 nights. The Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa is positioned directly on the shores of Lake Wakatipu and showcases panoramic mountain views over an unspoilt landscape, it’s truly breathtaking.

After an hour enjoying the surrounding, we were driven back to the airport where we were hopped on a helicopter for a flight through these epic mountains to a remote stone house located on Mt Nicholas Station. As we entered this stand alone stone cabin we were greeted with a roaring fire and a long table decorated for a feast. Veuve Clicquot accessories, large candelabra,  and sheepskins layered on the benches were among the beautiful pieces presented before us. As we sipped on flutes of Veuve Clicquot, we were served lunch cooked on the fire and listened to stories of the station’s history, which included some juicy ghost stories.

After lunch we were driven through the stations terrain and to the private wharf, where a rather large ferry awaited to take us back to town. Cruising up the lake with this weeks must have accessory ( flute of Veuve Clicquot ) was something out of a movie. Everywhere you look in Queenstown is breathtaking.

After an action packed day it was back to The Hilton, where is was time to relax by own on private fire and the early to bed for another action packed day tomorrow.

Each day I’ll be writing about my experiences and activities so make sure you keep an eye on Styled by Phillips regularly.
