Ditto

Ok, I may have found something that will excite all women! Hangers that give you more closet space, yes I said more closet space. These hangers are made with 100% tree-free recycled paper and can fit twice the amount of clothing in the same closet space. Due the hangers being made of paper you wouldn't imagine they hold much weight, but surprisingly they hold up to 20lbs.

When I moved house last September the only thing I hated about my new abode was the closet. I'd gone from a large lush wardrobe aka the ferrari to a one doored wonder aka a smart car. Having been in the fashion industry for over 14 years my closet is my office, so I would give anything a try to create more space and put an end to my closet anxiety. The ditto hangers are sold in packs of 10 and come in 3 sizes so you can test a few out before decking the hole thing ditto eco friendly, but trust me when I say you will be hooked. Rather then folding many items in the 2 large sets of drawers, I was able to finally hang all coats, jackets and favourite dresses.

I'm hooked!

About the shades

I found another fabulous pair of stunning print pants. These eye catching playful bottoms will have you making a fabulous statement without even trying! I know a lot of people find loud prints too risky and sure, they are overwhelming sometimes, but I promise once you give them a try, you too will be addicted.

When it comes to styling, it's so important that you blend with your personal style. Don't try a look that you're not comfortable in. I always opt for solid coloured top, either matching to the colour palette in the pant or by picking a bright colour that doesn't clash. The key for me, is to keep my heels a neutral colour, this way you won't be overwhelmed by too many colours.

Couldn't resist a little sunglasses action in this post, wonder why! These DKNY sunglasses have a slight cat eye which matched the print on the pants, but thats not the only reason! I love the sleek and modern style and find them great for driving as they shield your eyes from overhead sunlight.

Playful Piece

There is nothing sexier to me then a great hat! I know I'm not the only one when I say, I don't wash my hair everyday. I have so much hair and it's extremely long that it's a job in itself just to wash and dry it. Anyway there is a morale of my rant, Not only are Hats the best accessory know to man, making you look effortlessly cool in an instant, but hats are also the perfect solution to those in a rush, bad hair days.

I teamed this stunning wide brim, straight structured hat with a bold colour to give it more flair. It's mix of young with the cutouts and old with the style of the hat, compliment each other well. This dress is made out of similar material to a wetsuit and fits the body in all the right places. It's vibrant green and black trim cut out's make it a playful piece, simply add boyfriend blazer for cold nights and to add a more evening look.

Behind the eye

I just love a good old fancy dress party and when I received  the Hermes Swinging Silk 50's event invite I straight away put my thinking cap on. I wanted to create a look that was extreme, but also adding my own twist. I knew that when it came to make up I needed to turn to the professionals, but also was intrigued on the process of the perfect cat eye. Thanks to Maria and Bethany from Make Up Store here are the tips and tricks for achieving that perfect look.

Step One
A lot of people normally like to do a thin base prior to doing your eyes, however when doing such an intense line such as the 50's inspired look we are going for tonight. Take your skin back raw, make sure there is no product and you are starting with a fresh and clean base.
Concealing the lid and add a yellow based powder over that.

Step Two
If your'e using false eyelashes, now is the time to add them. I've gone for a medium thickness to add a more dramatic look.

Step Three
Using liquid liner with a mixing liquid, follow the line on your upper lid right to the edge. From the outer corner create a line using the same curve as your eye and angling towards the end of your eyebrow. You can choose your own length and if you want to tone it down, simply use a cotton bud to delete. Once you are happy with your line fill in the gap between flick and upper line.

Step Four
If your concerned that your line is not neat, this step will make you feel like a professional. Simply add Tri brow powder in black over the line you have created, which will fill in all the gaps and create a smooth line.

Step Five
Sometimes when you are creating a heavy eye line such as this, it can sometimes make your eye look small. In order to open your eye and give it that clean and wide appeal there are two tricks.  Add a white pencil to the lower lid and a grey base white eye shadow on the inner corner. With a light brown, follow the line of your lid ( half way between lash line and eyebrow ) and create a light half circle effect.

To continue with my 50's look, we went with a rich red lip pencil on outer and inner and then and orange based red lipstick.

And here is the final look ! How amazing is it, Bethany is a super star.

Swinging Hermes

Hermes did a fantastic job hosting a 50's swing themed party last night at Coney Island, Luna Park. Glancing around the room you felt like you had time travelled back in time, as poodle skirts, saddle shoes, greased backed hair, high waisted pants, rolled back sleeves and of coarse Hermes scarfs dominated the room. The dance floor was alive with fellow swinging fans and instructors teaching those the tricks to swing all night and above the dance floor hung rows of hanging silk Hermes scarves. If you weren't the dancing type, you could hang at the diner styled bar and sip milkshakes or take straw sacks and hit the slides and many other rides available.

The venue was bursting at the seams with a star studded crowd and among the 50's get up I managed to spot Anthony Minichiello, Terry Biviano, Candice Lake, Jesinta Campbell, Kate Waterhouse, Christine Centenera, Herminie Underwood, James Tobin and Collette Dinnigan to name a few.

Hermes, you know how to throw a party! Thank everyone involved for a great night and a huge thanks to Make Up Store, Oxford St for my 50's inspired make up and Nicholas for the dress and Heels from his AW13 collection.

Wednesday

A pinch of purple

It's a little crisp this morning and as you know I'm a huge fan of adding a jacket / blazer to a look for that extra added edge, o and for warmth. This Just Cavalli Jacket is such a great investment piece, as it's rich purple colour  can take you through all seasons. Another winner with this jacket is it's beautiful structured cut, it's so easy to style with dresses, shorts and my favourite a stunning pant! I decided to add a busy print crop top to these very feminine pants and kept the accessories black and chic.

Now, let me draw your attention to my sunglasses... Amazing I know, I just purchased them online from OPSM. These stunners are Prada's and resemble a bold wayfarer frame with a slight cat eye inspiration, the tortoiseshell colour is a must!

Between somwhere and nowhere

Alexandra and Genevieve the design duo behind the captivating fashion label Ginger and Smart are celebrating their tenth year, as they deliver a stunning A/W 2013 collection. Ginger and Smart have always had a distinctive style and with this collection they keep to their roots along with adding polished and striking designs within the colours,  fabrics and designs all of which they do themselves.

The iconic and exclusive prints were inspired by the graphic nature and wild colours of Azilal rugs. Their colour palette which they design themselves includes clear blue, tangerine and peridot on sharp base of black and white. This collection really captured a sense of cool confidence along with a very playful aspect. I would say that this is one of the favourite collections, it's just so diverse and unique especially with it's designs and patterns.

"We designed this collection with a fierce romantic wanderer in mind and have created hard edge textures using graphic lacquered jacquards, mixed modern metallics, elastised leather and french lace". Ginger and Smart.
